St. Mary’s Medical Center, Long Beach – General/Trauma/OB/Cardiac, MD – $550k plus additional call rate shifts applied.

St Mary’s Medical Center (SMMC) – Long Beach, CA – is part of the Dignity Health System serving Southern California located between LA and Orange County. The facility provides a full complement of services and clinicians get exposure to a wide variety of cases. It is one of less-than 450 hospitals designated as Baby Friendly® and received a Critical Care Excellence Award™ (2021 and 2022) by Healthgrades.

Responsibilities of the Anesthesiologist

• 10 ORs + 2 OBs | 427 beds | L2 6 OR plus 1 OB Trauma | Starts 7 am to 5 pm and/or 7 am to 7 pm
• Average 7,388 cases + 1,055 births annually | general, ortho, urology, | hearts, heads, trauma, neuro, peds | + OB (100 deliveries a month)
• Shift types: 10s, 12s, 24s 
• Typical day when not on call runs 7 am to 5 pm, call 1x or 2x a week/post call off; Backup call – response call within 30 minutes
• Care team model
• Provide direct anesthesia services to Center patients, on average the clinician will be expected to work 100% clinical 
• Managing incidents or complications
• Communications with onsite Medical Director on questions regarding safety and policy and procedure protocols
• Assist and collaborate with your peers efficiently and effectively to ensure smooth patient care and safety

Requirements of the Anesthesiologist

• Active state license | DEA | State CDS
• Board certified required
• ACLS | PALS | BLS
