Overview

DESCRIPTION:

The Communications Coordinator supports the implementation of communication strategies designed to promote the value of company trainings and accredited continuing education for Somnia clinicians and staff and to build engagement with Somnia’s internal and external online community, clinicians, staff, and other stakeholders.

The Coordinator is responsible for supporting, organizing, and improving communications concerning educational programs via multiple channels including Somnia’s LMS (Somnia University), social media, podcasts, e-newsletters, articles, website news, and reports.

 

Key responsibilities include management of LMS website, podcasts, email blasts and subscription lists; writing and editing for digital platforms; designing and editing enduring learning activities from existing content; coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on projects; and identifying strategies to achieve communications goals.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

LMS – Somnia University

  • Support management of the LMS (litmos.com) & maintain user updates
  • Edit, and design new course content in coordination with education team and other teams across the organization
  • Post LMS news updates on a weekly basis
  • Maintain a review schedule; coordinate regular content reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency of messaging and design
  • Respond to log-in and help requests from staff concerning the LMS
  • Assist with selection of graphics, icons, and photography for courses & other content
  • Identify strategies to improve traffic and user experience
  • Prepare reports tracking and analyzing LMS usage

 

Social Media and Podcasts

  • Support implementation of social media strategy Somnia’s Education Department programs, including, including writing, editing, and proofing posts; and preparing graphics
  • Work with marketing department to obtain quarterly reports and analysis of social media performance of Education Department posts
  • Work with marketing team to improve social media presence to increase followers and build visibility and engagement
  • Coordinate podcast production, including scheduling, selecting topics, preparing questions, inviting guests, and coordinating with the production team

 

Email Communications & Marketing

  • Manage Somnia employee email lists on our email marketing services
  • Maintain calendar of email blasts, newsletters, targeted announcements, and other email communications, in coordination with communications and other internal teams
  • Manage production and distribution of email blasts, in coordination with internal teams, including writing, editing, and graphic selection; formatting in email templates; testing and proofreading; and distributing

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Edit, proofread, and Project Management and Education Department materials
  • Support CME Manager with events or meetings as needed
  • Support other projects as assigned

 

 

 

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or related field
  • 1-3 years related experience, preferably in healthcare or education field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills; strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to engage with multiple audiences, including physicians and other healthcare professionals, educators, and the public
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Professional, including Excel
  • Graphic design skills a plus
