Position Summary:

The Team Lead - Payment Posting is responsible for supervising the payment posting team, ensuring timely and accurate posting of payments, and maintaining financial records. This role involves optimizing payment processes, troubleshooting discrepancies, and collaborating with other departments to resolve payment-related issues. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of payment posting procedures, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Team Lead Payment Posting Responsibilties

• Lead a team of payment posting specialists, providing guidance, training, and provide feedback in relation to performance evaluations to ensure high productivity and accuracy.
• Oversee the posting of payments from insurance companies and patients into the financial system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct regular reconciliation of posted payments against bank statements and remittance advice to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve payment posting processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce errors.
• Collaborate with billing and accounts receivable teams to resolve payment discrepancies and address any issues related to payments.
• Ensure payment posting practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and other industry standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for payment-related inquiries and facilitate communication between the RCM Director of Revenue Integrity and Education and other departments to resolve issues promptly.

Team Lead Payment Posting Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in payment posting, medical billing, or accounts receivable, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of payment posting procedures, medical billing, and insurance processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using financial systems, lockboxes, and billing software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience within Anesthesia billing preferred.
• Additional certifications in medical billing or financial management preferred.
