Overview

Nurse Anesthesia Faculty (NAF) and Program Coordinator Overview

The NAF and Program Coordinator, a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) with a doctoral degree, assists both Nurse Anesthesia Assistant Directors (NAAPDs) and the NAPD with the didactic and clinical education of the Program. This role also involves coordinating learner onboarding, didactic support, admissions, clinical operations, and marketing. The NAF/Program Coordinator will work collaboratively to ensure programmatic compliance with the Council on Accreditation (COA) of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This is a 12-month, 1.0 faculty appointment structured as four days per week with one scholarly day.

Responsibilities

Nurse Anesthesia Faculty (NAF) and Program Coordinator Responsibilities

 

Program Onboarding:

  • Coordinate cohort orientation and onboarding activities in collaboration with NAAPD

Didactics:

  • Develop, distribute, and evaluate Typhon evaluation tools in collaboration with NAAPD
  • Participate in team teaching the nurse anesthesia core curriculum and all simulation immersions
  • All nurse anesthesia classes are synchronous with occasional voice-over PowerPoints for supplementation


Admissions:

  • Help NAPD and NAAPDs with admission’s process


Program Support:

  • Assist the NAPD and NAAPDs with daily program functions, including operational and administrative tasks
  • Work in collaboration with the EA of SNAP with program and clinical onboarding
  • Collaborate with the NAPD and NAAPDs to ensure compliance with COA and CCNE program accreditation standards
  • Collaborate with the NAPD and NAAPDs to define, develop, and implement the nurse anesthesia core curriculum
  • Collaborate with the NAPD and NAAPDs to maintain continuous program evaluation guided by the program’s continuous evaluation plan
  • Participate in program governance on all SNAP and Ursuline College committees
  • Attend all required Ursuline College with SNAP’s committee activities
  • Promote a climate of collegiality and teamwork throughout the program
  • Serve as an Academic Advisor
  • Communicate with students in a timely manner
  • Act as a DNP Project Chair for NA students as well as serving DNP Project Teams
  • Other duties or special projects as needed or assigned by the NAPD
 
  

This combined role offers a unique opportunity to lead and enhance the operations of a premier Nurse Anesthesia Program, ensuring the success of both students and faculty while directly supporting and reporting to the NAPD and CEO

 

Qualifications

Nurse Anesthesia Faculty (NAF) and Program Coordinator Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
  • Doctoral degree in nursing, nurse anesthesia, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Active certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
  • Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse
  • Active clinical nurse anesthesia practice
  • Experience with academic education, preferably within a nurse anesthesia program, including administration, curriculum development, evaluation, and instruction
  • Demonstrated evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in planning, leading, and implementing nurse anesthesia programmatic activities
  • Active member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)

Salary $175,000
