TITLE: Compensation Specialist

 

DETAILS: 

Department: Clinical Affairs / Human Resources

Reports To: Director of Compensation Management

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Salary Range: $60,000-$63,000/year, commensurate with experience.

Benefits: PTO; Insurance: Medical, dental, vision, basic life; Retirement: 401(k) with matching.

Format & Schedule: Hybrid with on-site support at our Harrison, NY headquarters. Must be able to work late on payroll weeks as determined necessary. Must be able to work late around holidays falling on concurrent payroll weeks. Please note that relocation support is not available. Strong preference will be given to employees already in commuting distance.

Location: Hybrid / Somnia Headquarters - 450 Mamaroneck Ave, Harrison, NY 10528.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Compensation Specialist will provide support to the growing Clinical Payrolls and Clinical/Corporate Benefits functions including, but not limited to, the accurate processing of certain multi-company, multi-state bi-weekly payrolls and assist with benefits administration as it relates to the payroll system – medical, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) etc...  Perform other general Payroll and Benefits duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review submitted payroll documents, including timecards and spreadsheets to ascertain hours of services, time off, call services, and stipends to ensure data is accurate before payroll is processed.
  • Enter hours worked, overtime, call hours and time off into the ADP Workforce Now payroll system as needed. Retrieve payroll hours from QGenda scheduling software as needed.
  • Process assigned bi-weekly payrolls.
  • Add new hires into ADP payroll system.
  • Accurately report on new hires, terminations, headcounts, compensation, census data and related analytical information as required.
  • Provide assistance in the day-to-day Payroll and Benefits activities including responding to employees’ inquiries in an accurate, timely manner.
  • Assist with the processing of required benefits documents through insurance carriers and payroll system to ensure accurate recordkeeping and proper deductions of new enrollments, changes and terminations.
  • Assist in the processing of employment verifications and garnishments, unemployment claims.
  • Research new federal and state laws/regulations as needed.
  • Assist with Open Enrollments for Employee Benefits plans.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Must be team oriented, with a "pitch in, do what it takes" attitude.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong verbal/written and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and multi-state wage/hour laws and multi state paid leave regulations.
  • Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA required.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information. 
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all employee and company related matters.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience using ADP Workforce Now payroll system required.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in the Healthcare field preferred.
