Somnia is looking for Hospital Practice Administrator to work with St. Mary’s Hospital in Long Beach, CA. This role is a member of our leadership team and works directly for the Director of Operations. The Practice Administrator will work closely with Somnia’s executive management team as well as the executive management team of the hospital. Strong interpersonal relationship skills, organizational skills and time management skills are a must. - Revenue Cycle Management - Follow standard chart batching and scanning process according to Somnia’s billing partner’s policies and procedures - Complete or appropriately train support staff to thoroughly scrub charts for all the pertinent pieces of information including but not limited to: - Lead discussions to establish interfaces between the hospital and billing partner - Maintain 100% accurate case log - Assist to ensure enrollment of new clinicians with payers prior to start date - Work with billing partner and VP of Patient Revenue to determine a site-specific process for following up on self-pay accounts.   - Operations - Complete HIPAA Compliance Officer training - 100% adherence to the compliance program is expected. Rates monitored and calculated by compliance and will be shared with sites monthly. - Maintain up to date, complete and accurate monthly reporting - Ensure education, utilization and audit of Somnia standard forms (work with EMR development where applicable) - Clinician Support Tasks - Ensure proper clinician time capture - Create or support the creation of clinician schedules - Credentialing and Enrollment Support - Actively participate in all facility related recruitment calls including weekly recruitment call - Ensure accurate department Policies & Procedures   - Quality - Hospital QA Department relationship: Provide support to ensure a positive and supportive working relationship with the hospital quality department to include periodic visits and emails to ensure that we are meeting the goals and expectations of the hospital. - Clinical Audits: Facilitate and support improvements in conducting periodic clinical practice audits and maintaining accurate records/reporting. - Ensure TIMELY completion of F/OPPEs - Review hospital MACRA MIPS data with chief and staff, if applicable - Patient Satisfaction: Facilitate and support improvements, especially with OB patient satisfaction, ie: patient education, tablet e-survey roll-out, etc. - Conduct annual surgeon satisfaction survey to obtain feedback from > 30% of surgeons (or more frequently if required by contract) - Support annual nursing satisfaction survey, if applicable - Develop, implement and audit action items based on patient, surgeon and nursing satisfaction survey results - Respond timely to requests for information / data collection for creation of quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc client reports - Incident Reporting:  Facilitate and support improvements in reporting rates - Peri-op/OR data:  If the site doesn’t already have readily available and accurate Periop/OR data on the traditional KPI metrics, facilitate and support a process to either implement a new electronic tracking process or one by hardcopy form - Staff Awareness/Education: Support and facilitate the regular presentation and discussion of compliance and quality related data and issues during staff meetings, etc. Experience – 5+ years in a healthcare setting; Bachelors required, Masters preferred.

POSITION RATIONALE: The Covid public health emergency [PHE] has placed pressures on healthcare organizations to educate, train, advise and give tools to employees on the hazards and prevention of the transmission and communication of COVID–19 and other communicable diseases. This includes, among other things, - activities to mitigate supply chain disruption[1]; - create management and practice telework systems[2]; - activities to mitigate the effects of reduced travel or attendance at outside activities[3]; - undertakings relevant to business practices necessary to mitigate PHE economic effects[4]   This document outlines a new position whose role is to support defined and planned educational activities at the medical group and clinician level, so that the medical group and its clinicians can - diagnose, treat or participate in the care of patients in a manner that prevents and reduces the chances of exposure to the Covid pathogen, and/or permits special precautions be taken to blunt avoidable spread, and in doing so permits supply chains to remain more patent and less encumbered; - places fewer physical plant and logistical stressors on the medical group, clinicians and the facilities where they care for patients; - creates management and telework systems to avoid/lessen reliance on in-person exchanges; - sharply reduces the need to travel and visit facilities;   POSITION SUMMARY:  The Associate Project Manager is accountable and responsible for “order fulfillment” from the view of three major stakeholders—the facilities, the clinicians and Somnia. POSITION DESCRIPTION   TITLE:                                Preoperative Clinical Director - Nurse Practitioner   DEPARTMENT:                         Anesthesia Department  REPORTS TO:                          Chief of Anesthesia     POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Perioperative Clinic Director works to achieve the highest performance of the perioperative areas and endoscopy, establishing the culture for evidence-based, collaborative clinical care, and outcomes driven patient experiences. The perioperative areas include Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), Operating Rooms, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The Clinic Director works with the surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers and administration to develop team effectiveness and engagement, and set expectations for our patients’ clinical experiences and effective care transitions. The Perioperative Clinic Director works with clinical leaders in the surgical specialties to develop and nurture high quality and safe care for our patients, using operational excellence as a framework, and peer review as appropriate. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS - Active medical license in the state of California - Board Certification - Experience in Anesthesiology or Surgery with preferred leadership experience and training RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS: - Hold scheduled meetings at least monthly, and ad-hoc documented meetings as necessary with providers and surgical services leadership to discuss systems/patient flow, quality outcomes, scheduling and other operational matters, encouraging team process and engagement from all. - Assist in the professional development and growth of surgeons in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer, relevant Quality and Safety leaders, and site medical directors. - Regularly assess medical staff perceptions and needs of the program to assure harmonious working relationships and evidence based clinical and safety practices. - Regularly review and annually sign off (as approved and updated) the latest Joint Commission standard policies, procedures, and evidence based clinical protocols for patient care. - Participate actively in the recruitment, selection, and on-boarding of new providers, including orientation to multi-disciplinary team process. Provide regular performance feedback and coaching as requested by the Chief Medical Officer to ensure our providers positive professional development, strong team behavior, and resiliency. - Ensure there is a system for benchmarking clinical and operating performance, as well as for planning and implementing required changes to exceed benchmarks. Include at a minimum: on time starts, room turnover, and block utilization. Examine need and implement systems to accommodate ambulatory cases, designing work flows that replicate the best practices of ambulatory surgery centers. Design surge systems for unexpected volumes that optimize patient flow.   - Accept responsibility for receiving, clarifying, investigating, and resolving in conjunction with surgical services and other SMHC leadership all concerns or questions of policy raised by surgeons or other perioperative personnel in a timely way. - Review, investigate, manage and resolve complaints / concerns about providers arising from patients, medical staff, or administration. Provide coaching, counseling, retraining, and direction in collaboration with Chief Medical Officer to ensure positive performance development. Trend complaints and lead the team toward continuous improvement of care for patients. - Manage own administrative and clinical time to the expected standard, balancing the need to be present for patients, providers, and administrative colleagues for best patient outcomes and program effectiveness. Report hours as required for compliance with Medicare regulations and hospital policy. - Regularly attend and participate in other, related medical staff committees, as requested by SMHC leadership, within scope of responsibilities and administrative hours. Engage other providers to participate in meetings as appropriate as part of their professional development and organizational citizenship. Provide physician leadership to the Perioperative Executive Committee, collaborating with nursing, anesthesia, and administration. - Assist in an efficient and expeditious operation of the practice providing input on budgets, billing, equipment, staffing, and yearly goals and objectives.
